Parking in Virpazar is fine for eight months of the year. From mid-June through August it becomes the single most stressful part of visiting — the public lots fill by 10:00, side streets are narrow, and coach tours block half the space. Here's what actually works.

Your three options

  1. Public lot by the bridge — free, first come, full by 10:00 in summer
  2. Overflow lot on the main road — free, 8–10 minute walk to the pier
  3. Reserved private parking — €5–10, two minutes from the pier, guaranteed

Why private parking is worth it in summer

Public parking sounds fine until you're circling in 33°C with a boat tour in ten minutes. Private reserved parking runs €5–10 for the day, is a two-minute walk from the pier, and is often included as part of a reputable tour booking.

For any summer visit, arrange reserved Virpazar parking.

When public parking is fine

  • May before the school holidays start
  • Any day if you arrive before 09:00
  • September after the second week
  • All of October–April

Motorhome and campervan notes

Motorhomes are not welcome in the village centre — you'll be turned around on the narrow streets. Park on the main road overflow lot or the field between Virpazar and the railway station (small daily charge). Wild camping in the National Park is not permitted.
