Skadar Lake isn't known as a swimming lake — which is exactly why the best swimming spots are so quiet. A handful of small pebble beaches on the southern shore are only reachable by boat, and on a July afternoon you may have one entirely to yourself.
Murići Beach
The most accessible "hidden" beach — reachable by road via a rough track from the Bar side. Small pebble cove, clean water, one small konoba. Busy on weekends in high season, quiet midweek.
The southern private-tour beaches
A string of small pebble bays along the wild southern shore, accessible only by boat. No names on any map. Every reputable Virpazar operator has two or three favourites they'll take you to.

What to know before swimming
- Water is clean but silty near shore — walk out gently
- Warmest from mid-June through mid-September
- Almost all beaches are pebble, not sand
- Bring water shoes if you have them
Safety and etiquette
Currents are gentle but the lake is deep and cold below 3m. Don't swim after wine, don't swim alone, and don't leave litter — a lot of these beaches are within nature reserve boundaries.
